v0.1.0 - First public preview

What's new

  • Windows x64 installer: VSCodium-based editor with the BdebTech AI extension and local daemon pre-installed
  • Tab autocomplete (fill-in-the-middle) with single-line / multi-line heuristics
  • Sidebar chat with file and selection context; copy / insert / apply code actions
  • Edit with AI: select, describe, review diff, apply
  • Starter model Qwen2.5 Coder 0.5B (CPU-first) and Lite+ 1.5B; Studio 7B / 14B / 32B behind license
  • Hardware profiling with CUDA / Vulkan / Metal / CPU engine selection and automatic fallback
  • Resumable, checksum-verified downloads; offline Ed25519 license verification with 30-day grace
  • OpenAI-compatible local API on 127.0.0.1:41337 for Cline, Continue, Aider and scripts

Known limitations

  • Installer and binaries are not code-signed yet (SmartScreen warning)
  • Linux and macOS branded installers not yet published
  • No repository-wide retrieval; chat context is what you attach

Roadmap

In rough priority order. Studio subscribers vote on what comes next.

  1. Linux (.tar.gz / AppImage) and macOS (Apple Silicon) installers
  2. Repository indexing: local embeddings so chat and autocomplete know your codebase
  3. Multi-file agent edits with task plans and test verification
  4. In-app updates for the editor, extension and daemon
  5. Custom GGUF models in the model switcher
  6. Studio checkout with UPI and crypto directly on this site
  7. Code-signed Windows builds
