Inside your existing VS Code, VSCodium or Cursor
Install the .vsix from the download page:
code --install-extension bdebtech-ai-ide-0.1.0.vsix
The extension needs the bdebd daemon. Either install the full IDE (the extension finds its daemon automatically) or download bdebd-<version>-win-x64.exe, put it somewhere on your PATH or set Settings → BdebTech › Daemon: Path, and run bdebd setup once.
In Cursor, disable Cursor Tab while using BdebTech autocomplete, or you will get two suggestions.
Standalone daemon (any OpenAI-compatible client)
bdebd setup # profile hardware, download engine + Starter model, verify
bdebd serve # OpenAI-compatible API on http://127.0.0.1:41337
bdebd models # list models and install state
bdebd use qwen2.5-coder-1.5b-q4
See Local API for endpoints.
Linux and macOS
The daemon and extension already include engine builds for Linux x64 and macOS (Apple Silicon with Metal, Intel). Branded IDE installers for those platforms are planned for the next releases; follow the changelog.
Uninstall
Windows: Settings → Apps → BdebTech AI IDE → Uninstall. The uninstaller asks whether to delete downloaded models and settings in %LOCALAPPDATA%\BdebTech\AI; keep them if you plan to reinstall.
